In the Himalayas, Nepal
Using a Canon 5D mk2 and a 50mm f1.4 lens
This was taken during a 17 day hike through the Himalayas with a group of students. Each overnight stop was particularly photogenic, but this was almost perfect when lit by the setting sun. Motion blur was an issue particularly because the students just couldn’t sit still for 5 seconds! In the end I rattled off almost 10 images and chose the sharpest.

Wow. Beautiful.
Spectacular. Love how the sun, is filtering through the trees, illuminating the hikers and their surroundings
It’s simply WOW!!! I am from Nepal and it’s very impressive to know that you were able to capture such beautiful sceneries. By the way, thanks for visiting my country NEPAL
I am so inspired and will definitely take amazing pictures like yours next time I go back to my country.
Did you need to use HDR for this?
stunning
Thank you for such positive feedback folks! I didn’t use HDR for the image because the lighting was just so damn perfect. All I shot through was an ND8 and the versatile 50mm 1.4… I was trying to travel light, as you could imagine! Nepal has an incredible landscape which I would love to shoot a little more thoroughly next time. I’d definitely recommend it as a photography expedition!
Wow, gorgeous

Superb!
Just stunning!
Do all of the trees cant at the same angle? Or did you use a panorama type of lense? Do you have more Nepal pictures? That part of the world is changing so fast, that every photo becomes a historical document as soon as the shutter closes. Granny
ooops This Granny again. I just figured out that the photographer who took the picture is not the blogger. I’m sorry. I still like the photo.

It’s ok. Sometimes the photographers will reply to questions posted here.
Maybe, they will see your question and respond.
Great shot
Great picture! I’ve never seen anything like it before.
captivating!!! did it take time to adjust to the altitude? what was the temperature range? Did you all hike a lot and sleep in those yak tents? (i hope it didn’t smell too bad) i had purchased a book and had planned to go myself but then did not get around to it. And then when i had more free time i decided to bask in the sun on the beaches of french polynesia instead ; )
I just loved your blog! Such amazing photos!! One day I’ll invest in photography too!
