That is fantastic…it must have been great to see while taking the photo…
What a lucky find! Dragonflies are so skittish and flighty (forgive the pun).
So difficult to get that close usually.
Must have been fun to see too!
Wish there was a LOVE button!

nice shot!
Wow! It’s stunning! Great shot!
Superb! How many shots did it take to get that crisp an image?!
The detail is amazing especially since they are usually quick little guys.
Amazing
really cool shot! Love it
Just incredible shot.
Outstanding visual magic ….. incredible in every way.
Great Shot! Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks folk, comments are much appreciated. This is a macro shot, and the dragonfly has not yet had its first flight, but would have emerged from the nymph state only an hour or so previously. It was sitting waiting for its wings to be fully pumped up and ready to fly. This happens early in the morning, takes a couple of hours and they are all wingborne by about 10 am.
damn amazing capture. I just brought a nikkon d series and playing around with photoshop. Trying to get pics like these. 2thumbs up
