This photo was taken in Athens, Greece at the Temple of Olympian Zeus. I was trying out multiple angles in an attempt to get the best shot of this oddly shaped temple.
When I got home and looked at the photo more closely I was pleased to see I not only got this great view of the temple but also a clear shot of the Acropolis and Parthenon in the background-which are about a half mile away!

Excellent image. One of the first things that jumped out at me in the image was the Acropolis in the background. Nice job.
I am always amazed at ancient architecture. I’ll bet those columns could tell a story if they could talk.
I just love this kind of surprise when you put your photo up on your screen and see other things you didn’t really see when shooting the intended target.
I don’t know if it’s generally known, but people used to live on top of those columns, as bizarre as it may sound. they were called ‘stylite monks’ and they had quite a following in the middle ages. they lived on top and get food via baskets that were raised and lowered
Fantastic photograph, and love the depth of field and wide angle that you have here. Just beautiful!
Oh wow. It’s like being there myself.
sweet, dude…
